Player Bio
In his second stint with the Warriors, Ryan ‘Rocky’ Hampshire is a versatile player who offers plenty of attacking threat.
Hampshire was born in Wakefield and grew up watching his local side, Wakefield Trinity.
He signed for Wigan from Normanton Knights and made his full Wigan debut against Widnes Vikings in June 2013.
In his first spell with Wigan, he spent some time on loan at Workington Town and Castleford Tigers before joining Leigh Leopards (then Centurions) for a season in 2017.
From there, he joined his boyhood Club Wakefield Trinity, where he enjoyed his most successful period in Super League between 2018 and 2021. He played 86 games scoring 28 tries and kicking 129 goals and 3 field goals.
Rocky then joined Castleford Tigers but his season was cut short early as he suffered an ACL injury against Catalans in 2022 and ended his season.
Already holding a heritage number with the Club from his first stint (1048), Hampshire returned to Wigan in January 2023, 10-years after making his first team debut for the Club.
After making a good recovery from his ACL injury, Hampshire made three appearances for the Club in 2023, as well as helping in the Reserves Grade who went on to win the Grand Final.
