Wardle: Improvement in us
- Wardle reflects on the season so far and his thoughts after signing a new five-year deal with the Club.
- Wardle: “As a group we feel there’s a lot of improvement in us.”
- St Helens v Wigan Warriors, Friday 29 March, 3pm K.O.
Jake Wardle says there is ‘improvement in us’ despite Wigan’s perfect start to the 2024 Betfred Super League Season.
Reflecting on the season so far, which sees Wigan as the only unbeaten side going into Round 6, Wardle said: “We’re a bit of a new group this year and as a group we feel there’s a lot of improvement in us but to start the year as we have – World Champions and currently unbeaten in Super League, we can’t ask for much more.”
This week the Warriors take on St Helens in a classic Good Friday fixture at the Totally Wicked Stadium. Looking ahead to the game, the Centre said: “I experienced my first Good Friday derby last year and it’s an unbelievable game to be a part of. I’m really looking forward to getting into it.”
The Warriors this week announced that the Centre will remain with the Club for a further five-years. Speaking on his new deal, Wardle added: “For me it’s just giving my all each week. I’m still learning the game, still looking to improve and not really thinking about individual accolades – just improving every week and seeing where my game goes from there.”
