Four Warriors have been named in England’s Academy team to play France in Saint-Gaudens on Saturday evening.

England Academy Head Coach, Paul Anderson has included three Warriors in his starting line-up, as well as one as an interchange for tomorrow’s international against France.

Ryan Brown and Kian McDermott will start as prop forwards, with Taylor Kerr starting at loose forward. Warriors half back Tom Ratchford has been named amongst the interchanges.

Jack Farrimond, who has been part of the England camp after being included in the initial 21-man squad, misses out on the matchday team.

Speaking on his selection, Paul Anderson said: “The players I’ve selected are a real credit to their clubs and how they develop their players. It’s a tough call on the four squad players not included in the 17 – they are first choice players back at their clubs.

“The whole Academy programme is massive and in our preparation for this game we’ve tried to reflect the senior environment and everything that goes with it – being in camp, how we train, looking at how players handle being in this type of environment.

“We’re developing potential senior England players of the future and Shaun Wane’s presence at the team’s shirt presentation this week shows how much he values the programme.”
