  • In partnership with Blindspot Global, we bring you the latest injury news from Robin Park Arena.
  • Matt Peet gives updates on Sam Powell and John Bateman.
  • Peet: “We anticipate that he’ll feature again this season, but it could be around a month.”

Matt Peet has provided an update from the physio room as he confirms that Sam Powell faces a month on the sidelines with an injury to his foot sustained in Round 21 against Hull KR.

“Sam Powell has an injury to his foot,” Peet said, “we’re anticipating around a month’s lay-off but he’s just had his scans so we’re just waiting on a few specialist appointments and more direction on that. We anticipate that he’ll feature again this season, but it could be around a month.”

Updating on John Bateman, who suffered a broken rib in the defeat to St Helens at Magic Weekend, he said: “John Bateman should return against Wakefield. He’s been working hard in the background, he had a few days away with his family which he probably needed as he played straight through with the England game and as you can imagine he’s really excited to get back on the field.”

Tommy Leuluai and Iain Thornley remain unavailable and continue their rehab following respective knee injuries, whilst Ethan Havard recovers from an ankle injury and is expected to return in the next few weeks.
