Coach Quotes

Speaking to wiganwarriors.com, Women’s boss Kris Ratcliffe is preparing for a challenging few weeks ahead for his side.

“It was disappointing to have the big derby cancelled last week as everyone was looking forward to it. We used the time wisely to get some solid individual work completed, we did a lot more contact work and topped up fitness levels with some hard graft in the gym.

“We know we have some big games coming over the next few weeks and that work has put the girls in the best shape to meet those challenges.

“Castleford are a big tough team. They are very strong up the middle and use that to build space and opportunities for some outstanding athletes in their backline. The girls know that we must be tough and resilient up the middle, and keep turning up for each other in defence for the full 80.

“If we do that then we know that we have some strengths of our own that will cause them some problems. It’s a big game for us, it’s a while since we took some points from any of the teams who have traditionally been in the top three and we need to do that if we want to be challenging for the title this season.
