On this day (6th April 2012) the Warriors were victorious in the Good Friday Derby, as they beat St Helens 10-28.

It was the home side who took an early lead, as Francis Meli went over in the corner after nine minutes.

That did not dampen Wigan’s spirits, as they went on to dominate the rest of the first half, with tries from Darrell Goulding and George Carmont giving them a 4-12 lead at the break.

Saints began brightly again after the restart, with Sia Soliola pulling a try back in the 51st-minute.

Things weren’t close for long, as just before the hour mark, Sam Tomkins went over to re-extend the Cherry and White lead.

In the final ten minutes of the game, Wigan put things beyond all doubt, as Gareth Hock and Jeff Lima both went over.
