MATT PEET HAS PROVIDED A SHOCK DOCTOR INJURY UPDATE AS THE WARRIORS PREPARE FOR ROUND 11 OF BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE.

Sam Walters suffered a broken collar bone in pre-season against Hull FC and played his first minutes in a try-scoring return for the Warriors Reserves side in a 44-0 win over Hull KR at Robin Park Arena on Saturday. Speaking on Walters return, Peet said: “When a player is out for so long, you’re always happy to see them get back out on the field. I thought he built into the game, had some decent involvements and it’ll be good to see him build on that now. In general, I thought it was a good performance from our Reserves.”

Mike Cooper missed last Thursday’s game against Catalans Dragons after failing a HIA at the end of the Hull KR game: “We’re relatively healthy at the moment. Mike (Cooper) comes back into contention this week.”

Finally, the Warriors boss gave an update on Willie Isa, who was back around the training ground after a fracture dislocation suffered in the Challenge Cup Sixth Round tie away at Castleford Tigers: “Willie (Isa) has been back around the group this week, which has been good to see. He’s a long long way off but it’s great to have him back amongst the group.

“All our supporters know what kind of bloke and what kind of athlete we’re dealing with with Willie Isa. He’s determined, an utter professional and a very tough man. As you can imagine he’s attacking the challenge of being injured as well as he would with anything else.”
