Alcedo Care for the future

Wigan Warriors are pleased to announce that Community partner, Alcedo Care, will continue their association with the Club for the 2024 and 2025 Seasons.

Currently sponsors of Wigan Warriors Community Foundation’s Futures Programme, the success of branding and growth of programme has seen Alcedo Care decide to continue their sponsorship and increase their involvement with the Club.

Alcedo Care are a key partner for our Community engagements, they are present at a lot of Wigan Warriors home match days and at all ‘Futures’ days with an information point outside our Fan Village. The company have also increased their hospitality offering to their staff in the 2023 season.

Wigan Warriors Head of Partnerships, Rebecca Webb, said: “The club are extremely grateful for Alcedo Care’s continued support for the 2024 & 2025 season following a very successful year on and off the pitch in terms of business and Rugby League silverware.

“The Alcedo Futures Programme has grown significantly, and the support of the sponsorship has definitely helped with this, alongside the hard work from Tom Marsh and our Community team. We are incredibly grateful for the support that Alcedo Care have shown and we are very much looking forward to continuing our partnership with a great group of people.’’

Rugby League Development Officer, Tom Marsh added: “It is great news that Alcedo Care have agreed to sponsor the Futures Programme for the next two seasons. What they have done for the programme over the last season has been great. They provided Wigan Warriors training tops for every participant that has taken part in the sessions which gives a more professional feel and look about the programme.

“Over the next two years we hope to carry on growing the programme for more participants to come down to Robin Park Arena and learn new or improve their skills from our coaches on our Coaching Pathway, this will hopefully benefit the Community game as the participants taking part are having more exposure to coaching and new ways of looking at the game to help them develop.”

Managing Director of Alcedo Care Group, Andy Boardman also said: “We have had a fantastic experience sponsoring the Wigan Warriors Community Foundation Futures Programme for the 2023 season and I am delighted to confirm that we have committed to sponsoring the programme again for the next two seasons.

“The Alcedo Group Mission statement is ‘Enriching Lives and Supporting Independence’ and because of our sponsorship we are hoping that we will be able to enrich the lives of some of the younger generation in our wider Community by helping to introduce them to Rugby League, which in turn will develop a lifelong love of the game.

He added: “We are supporting more and more young people who are suffering from complex mental health issues, and we truly believe participation in team games and physical exercise can in some small way help with mental health and general wellbeing. We are so proud to be able to play our part in such an important club initiative.”
