It was a quiet start to the contest at Robin Park Arena and it took until the 22nd minute before the scoring got underway, Tom Forber raced 40m from dummy half to cross for Wigan’s opening score with the effort converted by Jack Farrimond.

Ten minutes later and Forber was in again for Wigan’s second of the afternoon. This time the hooker scooted over from close range following Tiaki Chan’s drive towards the posts. The score was once again converted by Farrimond for 12-0 getting towards half time.

Wigan were set to start the second half with a man less as Jack Farrimond was sent to the sin bin in the 39th minute following a coming together in Hull KR’s in-goal area.

Despite being at a man disadvantage, Wigan extended their lead in the 44th minute as Tiaki Chan went over, crashing onto a short ball from Tom Forber to in under the posts. Tom Ratchford added the extras.

Almost immediately, Finley Beardworth then crashed over for Wigan’s fourth of the afternoon. The Warriors playing some slick attacking rugby to go through hands and see the forward over. Tom Ratchford once again slotted the conversion to see the Warriors at 24-0 with half an hour to play.

A great performance on return from a collar bone injury was sealed with a try as Sam Walters added to the scoresheet in the 51st minute. Another flowing attack from the Warriors saw Forber turn provider once more, sending Walters through a gap which Jack Farrimond, having returned from the sin bin, converted to make it 30-0.

Harry Higham would scored two quick fire tries out on the right wing as he put the ball down in the 58th and 62nd minute, two difficult conversions were both off target but Wigan held the 38-0 advantage with 15 minutes to go.

Hull KR could not respond as Wigan held up fantastically well in defence and the victory was sealed with a final try right before the hooter for Jack Farrimond, who converted his own score to make it 44-0 as the Reserves remain unbeaten so far in 2024.
