Wigan Warriors Women (12:15pm) and Wigan Warriors First Team (2:45pm) will both face Leeds Rhinos in a double header at Headingley Stadium on Saturday 9 September.

The Warriors Women face Leeds Rhinos Women in the final round of the regular Betfred Women’s Super League season with a spot in the play-offs in sight. Both sides met recently in the Challenge Cup Semi Final in a close contest that saw the Rhinos progress with a 16-4 victory despite a fantastic score from Beri Salihi on the afternoon.

Four points currently separate the two sides in the table, with Leeds Rhinos in third whilst the Warriors sit in fourth. Women’s Captain, Rachel Thompson, commented: “These double headers are really exciting for us and the Club. The game was such a close contest last time when we played Leeds in the Challenge Cup, as a team we really know we can turn up and do a job and make it a great game to watch.

“We hope the Wigan fans can get to Headingley that little bit earlier, get behind us and help us end the season on a high in this crucial part of the year.”

Following the Women’s game, Wigan Warriors then face Leeds Rhinos in Round 25. The Warriors currently sit first with the Rhinos four points outside of the play-off spots as it stands. The fixture has also been selected for broadcast by Sky Sports and will now kick-off at 2:45pm.
