Marshall shines in May awards

• Liam Marshall wins two May player awards.
• Winger takes Try of the Month award whilst sharing Player of the Month award with Harry Smith.
• Both awards were voted by Wigan fans.

Wigan Warriors winger Liam Marshall has won Try of the Month for May, whilst sharing a joint Player of the Month award with Harry Smith.

Voted for by Warriors fans, Marshall takes home the two awards after a terrific month of action. 

The winger has had an electric month for the Warriors, starting with the Challenge Cup Semi Final against St Helens. Marshall opened the scoring with an acrobatic effort before booking Wigan’s place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a super scoring effort at Elland Road.

Marshall was also on the scoresheet as Wigan lost to Hull but it was his winning try against Huddersfield in the Challenge Cup Final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which has captured the eye and earns him Try of the Month for May.

The superb try in the Challenge Cup Final came courtesy of a great grubber kick through from Harry Smith. The pair have been linking up magnificently this season, with both in fine form individually too and in a first in it’s history – the Player of the Month award was tied between Liam Marshall and Harry Smith.
