Matt Peet confirmed that Bevan French will feature this week as he gave an update in his weekly press conference ahead of the Warriors Round 7 tie with Hull FC.

“Bevan will play. He’s an exciting and unpredictable player, he’s got talent and he can beat people in small spaces. We won’t be expecting too much from Bevan this week, we just want him to be back on the field, enjoying his game and to compete,” Peet said.

“He shown glimpses that he’s ready to come back and compete. He’s amongst the lads and he’s showing some good stuff in training, working hard and we all know what he’s capable of but this week I’ll just be happy to see him back out there competing hard and playing as part of the team.”

Questioned on what to expect of their opposition this week, he said: “I think they’ll be excellent, they are an excellent squad. They’re getting back to full strength now, they recruit really well and they consistently find players that you know will light up the competition. They’re one of those teams combines massive forwards and skilful backs so it’s always a challenge when you get that.

“They’ve got some big outside backs who carry the ball strong, Luke Gale coming back is going to rejuvenate them, they’ve certainly signed him to get them around and win them trophies. They’ve been winning without him and they’re only going to improve with him.”

He added: “Hull are coming here to win. The way they recruit, the squad that they’ve got – they know they’re expected to come here and win, and win the big games. They’re capable of that, they know they’ve got the ability if they come and perform they can turn us over so it is a massive challenge. They’re a team and a Club that has high expectations and I think they’ll be very confident coming over here.”

With a 10-day turnaround to follow this week’s game, Peet is expecting a high intensity game on Thursday: “There’ll be no excuses for both teams, you’ll see two highly committed teams with quality talent, really battle it out. I think we’re both in similar positions in development as squads and our league standings so I think it’ll be best team wins.”
