PDRL start season at Warrington

Wigan Warriors PDRL got their 2022 action underway as they faced Warrington Wolves in a friendly prior to the first team game last Saturday.

In 2021, Wigan hosted an LDRL festival on the DW Stadium pitch, as a curtain-raiser to Wigan’s final regular home game of the season against Catalans Dragons. The Warriors look to offer more opportunities for the disability rugby league teams to flourish in 2022, including home games at Robin Park Arena – which is free entry for 2022 season ticket holders.

The PDRL side kicked off their year at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, invited to be part of a pre-match friendly before the first team game on Stefan Ratchford’s testimonial.

It was a promising start to the year for the Cherry & Whites, scoring a try either side of half time. The first effort came from Dean Davies before Ben Seward touched down in the second half, Craig Davies added the conversion. Wigan were beaten by the Wolves at the Halliwell Jones, as the score finished 22-10.
