Willie Isa says Wigan Warriors have built up some good momentum heading into their game against Catalans Dragons on Friday.

The Warriors have won two of their last three games, including nillings against Castleford Tigers and Hull FC away from home. Wigan now head into their final game of the regular season this Friday at the DW Stadium, before a Play-Off Eliminator at home on Thursday 23rd September.

Speaking to wiganwarriors.com this week, Isa spoke about the team mentality going into this week’s fixture: “There’s not much different really from us in terms of mentality coming into this week’s game. The lads have been building some momentum; they’ve done really well in the last few games. They’ve been really tough games and I think we just need to build on the momentum that they have worked up in the last four weeks.

“It’s the same mentality, we as players know what we need to do. For some of the boys it’s going to be their last regular home game, before the Eliminator game at home, so we just want to make sure we get the result right for those players, and the coach too.”

He added: “The main thing is building on that progress.”

Isa says momentum is building in the Wigan camp.

Isa is set to return to the squad for Friday’s game for the first time since completing a four-match suspension – picked up against St Helens last month.

“I’m grateful that I am in with a chance of playing this week, and I’m off that hard ‘pre-season’ style training which I’ve been doing during the suspension. I needed that, because of not playing you have to try and replicate a game away from the game in terms of intensity.

“It’s not easy sitting on the sidelines not being able to help out, I do have a lot of respect for the guys who don’t play because the amount of work that they do and sometimes the turn doesn’t fall with them to play.”

Reflecting on his time off, and the game ahead, Isa said: “I had to look at the time off in a different way, I’ve put in some hard work and it’s also allowed me to recover a little bit. I’m ready to get back out there now this week with the rest of the boys and finish the season strong with the team.”
