In Memoriam: Allan Brindle

This week, we were saddened to hear the passing of former local journalist and broadcaster, Allan Brindle. Matchday programme editor and hospitality host, Graham Lovett, pays tribute to his friend and former colleague.

On Tuesday 17th November, we said a sad farewell to a very good friend and supporter of not only Wigan Warriors in particular but of Rugby League in general.

Allan Brindle, who passed away on 2nd November, was associated with Wish FM back in the days when the game was broadcast live on local radio.

Allan was a familiar face on the Rugby League scene and his straightforward, no nonsense approach and attitude endeared him to all who met him – whether it be at Wakefield or Wembley.

In these dark and dismal days we can ill afford to lose such characters. The thoughts of everyone in the game, especially all at the Warriors, go out to his family and friends.

Rest in peace old friend, you will be greatly missed.
