Riverside Emerging Schools Festival

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are pleased to host their newly sponsored Riverside Emerging Schools Festivals.

Riverside Emerging Schools Festivals take place every Wednesday afternoon 4pm-5pm. The purpose of the festivals is to give the schools that our coaches deliver in the opportunity to come together with a competition style format.

Rugby Development Manager, John Whalley said: “The Emerging School Festivals are a fantastic opportunity for male and female players that are new to Rugby League or with little experience that can come and enjoy a competitive feel to playing Rugby with their friends.

“Having Riverside Plumbing Supplies on board allows us to make this sustainable going forward, increasing participation within high schools and the Community game.”

Community Development Officer, Tom Marsh added: “We have had boys and girls come with their school who have never played Rugby League before and on the back of this they have joined their local Community Club and played throughout the last few seasons.

“Moving forward through 2023/2024 the support from Riverside Plumbing Supplies will be great for the programme. This will allow us to grow and allow more participants in schools to play Rugby League.”

Riverside Plumbing Supplies Manager, Johnny Dunn, said: “We are a local firm with local employees that really understand the importance of Rugby League in the Community and we are willing to help in any way to try and grow the games in schools and local Communities.

“It is fantastic to be able to link up with Wigan Warriors Community Foundation to deliver these sessions into schools going forward.”
