Hindley Girls Development session

On Sunday 17th September, Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and Greenmount Girls Academy players attended Hindley ARLFC for a girls development session.

Over 90 girls attend the sessions, varying from ages 7 – 16. With eight new recruits across the junior section on the day, it was fantastic and successful event for the Club.

Rugby Development Manager, John Whalley, commented: “The whole day was brilliant, lots of girls across all ages groups playing rugby is great to see. This was a valuable day across the Hindley girls junior section, year upon year the girls game is growing and being able to support and build relationships with our Community Clubs is something we do very well across the club.”

Community club coordinator at Hindley ARLFC, Claire Burgess added: “We were delighted to hold our first girls development day at Hindley, where we welcomed new girls down to the Club to join us for an afternoon of activities alongside our Hindley players.

“It was a pleasure to work in partnership with Wigan Warriors Community Foundation again, who supported us throughout the planning stages and on the afternoon with their planned rugby sessions for all junior and youth age groups.”

If you would like to give Rugby League a try at Hindley, recruiting is open for girls of all ages. For more details, please message Claire 07725690212.
