Greenmount Girls Development Pathway
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are delighted to have held a successful Greenmount Girls Development Pathway Programme during the summer holidays.
Across July and August, the Warriors Community Foundation ran the latest Greenmount Girls Development Pathway Programme, which is supported by the programme’s primary partner Greenmount Projects Ltd.
The sessions, which had more than 70 attendees in the U14’s age bracket, were based around developing core skills, tackling technique and functional movement, before all the skills were put to the test in a 9-a-side skill game festival.
Rugby League Development Manager and Girls Academy Head Coach, John Whalley, said: “The last four weeks have been very good with more than 70 girls attending the sessions which have been to a high standard.
“I’d like to think that the girls have taken something new from each session, which they can take away and build on. The festival style skill games were great fun, and the girls showed a competitive side where they put into practice all the skills they had developed over the last four weeks.”
“I look forward to working with these girls in the future and seeing them progress towards our Greenmount Girls Academy.”
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation will be looking to host more Greenmount Projects Ltd Girls Development evening sessions later in the year. Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
