Custy’s Column

Cade Cust provides another update, discussing his neck injury, returning to action and the upcoming Challenge Cup Quarter Final. Read below for the third instalment of ‘Custy’s Column’…

Hi Wigan fans,

So I spent a bit of time off the field recently, I had a slipped disk which was pressing on my nerves which meant that I had some tingling in my fingers and no strength in my triceps so I had to spend some time with no contact for a few weeks.

I had another scan after around six weeks and there was a lot of improvement, I’m back playing in the middle now so everything is feeling pretty good.

Whilst I was on the sidelines I had some of my family over. My mum, nan, pop and littlest sister came over a few weeks ago – nan and pop they love it over here, they love Rugby League and coming to spend time with me, it’s good to have them here and they enjoy England just as much as I do.

Coming back from the injury in the last couple of weeks the body is feeling good, I’m feeling more and more comfortable so it’s just a matter of match fitness now. I like to think I’m always an upbeat team member who will always put my best foot forward so as long as I continue working hard and remain positive that is a huge thing at the moment.

We know as a team that we haven’t been in our best form for the past couple of weeks, but we cannot wait to get back out at the DW Stadium this week in front of that roar of Wigan fans. I hope you can be there and get behind us as we look to get to the next stage in the Challenge Cup comp.

Speak soon,

Custy.
