Greenmount Girls Development Days

Over 130 girls attended the latest Development Days sponsored by Greenmount Projects at Robin Park Arena.

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation once again welcomed over 130 girls aged between 11-16 to Robin Park Arena over the May half term for their latest Girls Development Days, sponsored by Greenmount Projects.

All girls participated in a carousel of core skill which included Grip, Catch and Pass, Decision Making and Tackle Technique – all core skill was then complimented with a skill game related to the core skill learnt during the session.

A 9-a-side festival format of games were then played to practice all skills.

Rugby League Development Manager, John Whalley, said: “The numbers are growing each time we hold a Greenmount Girls Development Day, which is great to see and be a part of.

“We are seeing girls from across the borough including Warrington, St Helens, Barrow and Penrith all attending which is fantastic. Having Greenmount Projects on board is also allowing us to make our development programme bigger and better.”
