Women’s Match Preview: Featherstone (A)

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Wigan Warriors Women’s 2023 Betfred Challenge Cup group stage game against Featherstone Rovers. The Warriors Women face Rovers at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday 7th May (12pm K.O.).

Following on from their opening group stage win away to Cardiff Demons (38-20) the Warriors now travel to take on Featherstone Rovers in game two of the group stages (12pm K.O.)

The final group game for Wigan will see them face Salford Red Devils at Robin Park Arena on Sunday 21st May.

The Warriors will face Featherstone for a seventh time in their history, though they are conscious that their last meeting ended in being knocked out of the Challenge Cup in 2022.

Speaking ahead of the game, Warriors centre/winger Kaitlin Hilton said: “We have had some defeats against them in the past so we never take them lightly. We’re going in hoping to try and play our best rugby of the season, working from the foundations we laid against Cardiff last week.

“We know it’s going to be a challenge and that’s why we’ve upped that intensity in training – we’re just ready to get back on the pitch again and get stuck in.”
