Wigan Warriors in partnership with The RFL will be running an Under-13s England Talent Pathway Games programme.

This pilot programme will consist of four weeks of Rugby League coaching by Warriors Youth Performance coaches, which concludes competitive fixtures against Warrington Wolves’ ETP Programme.

The aim of the Programme is to provide an opportunity to young players within the Wigan Borough to access additional coaching and skills development and apply these in a competitive fixture after the community season.

The session will run on the following dates at Robin Park Arena:

  • Tuesday 4th October, 7pm-8:30pm
  • Tuesday 11th October, 7pm-8:30pm
  • Tuesday 18th October, 7pm-8:30pm
  • Tuesday 25th October, 7pm-8:30pm

The fixtures will take place on:

  • Saturday 29th October at Victoria Park in Warrington

These fixtures will be played as 9s matches and players will have several competitive fixtures on the day.

Junior Player Development Manager, Shane Eccles, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Under-13s players [Year 9] to take part in a competitive programme which will conclude with fixtures.

“This programme will create a strong environment for players to learn and develop new skills alongside being challenged by others around them and apply their skills within a competition.

“We are looking forward to seeing all the players at the sessions and we are really pleased to be able to offer players an opportunity to represent the Club in the competitive games.”

Due to limitations to be eligible for this Programme, players must live within the Wigan Borough with a WN Postcode, attend a Wigan or Leigh High School or live in an area that does not have any ETP activity.

In addition to this programme we will also be running ETP sessions during the October half term. If players do not meet the criteria to take part in the games programme, they will be more than welcome to attend the ETP half term sessions.
