Brad Singleton said there is ‘plenty of belief’ in the Wigan squad following a spirited performance on the road at St Helens.

“It’s my first Good Friday derby and it’s how you can imagine it,” he said, “I’ve watched it for years. It was intense, the atmosphere was awesome and I thought we did enough to get in front of the arm wrestle in that first half but it was a case of two halves and we didn’t do enough in that second half to get the two points.”

He added: “It was a high calibre game, there was quality in both sides and Saints are the benchmark, and have been for a few years now. In the first half we edged the arm wrestle but it was ultimately not good enough in the end.”

Reflecting on the result, he said: “You leave that game and the main thing is hurting, we’ve just lost the derby at their ground so there’s a lot of boys hurting there but there’s confidence and belief in there. We performed well against a top team, and one of the top teams of recent times in that first half, there is plenty of belief.”

Wigan now have a short turnaround as they host Wakefield Trinity at the DW Stadium on Monday, on the Easter games, the Warriors forward said: “The Easter period has been around for some time, we’ve got Wakefield and we know that they were tough in our last game against them, especially the opening spells. We’ll get the bodies right, put our best foot forward and hopefully get a good encounter on Monday.”

Tickets for Monday’s game against Wakefield are still on general sale, and can be purchased on the day from the DW Stadium Ticket Office (Open from 11am until kick off). Easter Monday is also our Family Fun Day with lots of fantastic activities and entertainment on at Robin Park Arena. Read more about what to expect HERE.
