Warriors launch 2022 Ambassadors programme
Wigan Warriors recently invited their Community Club Ambassadors to their 2022 launch at Robin Park Arena where Clubs took part in a Q&A with Executive Director Kris Radlinski and Head Coach Matt Peet, as well as receiving a signed 2022 Home Shirt presented by Sean O’Loughlin.
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation are committed to helping all Community clubs where possible and most recently have launched the 2022 extremely popular Community club ambassador programme.
Over the years, there have been countless youngsters who have progressed from amateur Rugby League clubs to signing for Wigan’s Academy system and representing the first team. Community clubs are the cornerstone of the development of players and Wigan Warriors prides itself on supporting all junior players and coaches with their development. The growth of the programme has seen a strong presence from Community clubs based in Lancashire through to Cumbria.
We are fully committed to hosting monthly events at Robin Park Arena. Ranging from coaching education and development to Q&A sessions with the likes of Executive Director Kris Radlinski, Head Coach Matt Peet, Assistant Coach Sean O’Loughlin, Assistant Coach Lee Briers, first team players and Community Foundation coaches.
Speaking on the event, Executive Director Kris Radlinski said: “These mornings have become a real highlight each month at the Club as we welcome the Community clubs into Robin Park. They are a very enthusiastic group and there is great spirit in the room despite the Club loyalties. We made a commitment to this programme in the middle of last year and we remain deeply engaged to provide insight and support.
“The work that the Community team, in-particular, Danny Fullerton and Darren Marsh have done, means that we feel far more connected to the Community game than ever before. The Ambassadors programme is growing at a rapid rate and it is very encouraging to know the Community game is in a really strong state.”
