Australian prop forward and new signing Kaide Ellis arrived at Wigan Warriors earlier today.

The 25-year-old has joined the Club on a two year contract, with the option of a third year.

New South Wales born Ellis brings NRL experience to the Club having played for Penrith Panthers and most recently St George Illawarra Dragons.

The prop forward signed for the Warriors in July and has now arrived in Wigan, starting pre-season training with his new teammates on Monday.

Speaking to the Club on Thursday, he said: “It’s exciting to be here. The facilities are great, and it’s been good to meet everyone – everyone is so friendly, which makes it easy. I’ve enjoyed it.

“The trip was good. We had a direct flight from Australia, and we got here pretty quick.

“It still feels a bit surreal, but I’ve got rid of all the nerves about turning up. It’s good to know when I turn up for training, I’ll feel comfortable.

“I’m looking forward to starting training. This time of the year is always tough, but I’m looking forward to coming in, working hard and earning the respect of the players, the coaches and the Club. I’m also looking forward to meeting all the players and learning off each player and the coaches.

“Every game I will give it my best and I’ll work as hard as I can at training. I plan to put my best foot forward every week.”
