On yer bike Paul

Wigan super fan Paul Holden is once again putting his support behind the Club and getting on his bike to raise funds for the Warriors Community Foundation.

Paul, who is the Chief Inspector for for Merseyside police, has been a supporter of the Club since 1979 when he was 9-years-old years and in 2017 he even released a single of his rendition of the “Wigan Rugby Club” anthem.

Paul has volunteered on a regular basis for the Community Foundation, giving up his free time to entertain the members of the Warriors Rugby Memories group with his repertoire of ukulele songs and special sing-alongs.

Now, Paul is helping the Community Foundation with their fundraising efforts and has got together a team of 15 cyclists to take part in the Manchester 100 – a 100-mile bike ride around Manchester and Cheshire. The team includes Community Foundation staff, cycling enthusiasts, and ex-Warrior Mick Cassidy. The event takes place on Sunday 5th September – on the same day as the Wigan 10k, in which the Community Foundation has 40 registered runners.

All funds raised for the bike ride will directly support the Community Foundation’s work in the community – including Rugby League development for all ages, health and wellbeing programmes for schools and community groups, and programmes to improve the career prospects of young people and adults.
