Camps next week

In what is the busiest summer ever for the Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, more community and player camps are coming up in the next four weeks.

Working in partnership with nine community Rugby League clubs in Wigan, the Foundation are delivering six weeks of camps at the home ground of each of the amateur clubs – giving 5-12-year-olds from each club the opportunity to gain more skills with Warriors coaches. Wigan St Patricks, Wigan St Cuthberts, Wigan St Judes, Orrell St James, Leigh Miners, Ince Rose Bridge, Ashton Bears, Wigan Bulldogs, Shevington Sharks and Chorley Panthers are all involved.

Player camps are also taking place at Robin Park Arena, with the opportunity for 5-12-year-olds to meet and play alongside Wigan first team players, as well as having a tour of the training facilities and watch training. Next Monday (9th August) will see Liam Marshall involved, while Tuesday 10th will see Sam Powell and Umyla Hanley attend.

There are also weekly free SEND (Special Educational Needs) and disability sessions happening at Robin Park Arena between for 6-14-year-olds. The sessions are led by SEND specialists and are multi-sport and sensory activities that are inclusive and cater for the needs of everyone who attends.
