Eight Warriors in Origin Academy squads

Eight Wigan Warriors youngsters have been named across the Lancashire and Yorkshire 23-man squads to prepare for Roses duty at Weetwood Hall in Leeds on Wednesday 4th August.

Logan Astley, Jacob Douglas, Zach Eckersley, Tom Forber, Harvey Makin, Junior Nsemba and Alex Sutton have all been named as part of the Lancashire squad – headed up by Warriors Under-19s head coach, Shane Eccles.

Matty Nicholson has been called up to the Yorkshire squad.

The sides will be coached by Shane Eccles (Lancashire) and Danny Wilson (Yorkshire). 

Players will initially participate in a regional training session on Tuesday 27th July. Following the training session, a 20-man squad will be selected to go into camp on Tuesday 3rd August, with a 17-man squad selected to play in the Origin fixture on Wednesday 4th August. The game will be streamed live on Our League at 11am on Wednesday 4th.
