Warriors partner with Assured Screening

Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce a partnership with Assured Screening who will become the Club’s Official Covid-19 Testing Partner for the 2021 season.

With private test centres and drop boxes across the UK AssuredScreening.com provides high accuracy, same day Covid-19 testing for home, work and travel. All testing is undertaken at long-established pharmaceutical-grade laboratories by Assured Screening’s bio-medical science team based in Barnard Castle.

As part of the agreement, Assured Screening will provide twice weekly PCR testing for the first team players and support staff to facilitate the safe continuation of training and matches.

Assured Screening will benefit from having its logo on the front left leg of the team’s playing shorts across first team, Women’s team and Academy.

A series of social media content will be created to profile how Wigan Warriors continue to tackle the challenges brought about by Covid. Assured Screening will seek to promote its Covid-19 testing services including workplace screening, home test kits and Covid-free travel certificates.

Wigan Warriors executive director, Kris Radlinski, commented: “Over the past 12-months, we have had to adapt to the challenges presented by Covid-19 and whilst there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel, the threat is still real.

“As such, we spoke to a number of companies with regards to the provision of twice weekly PCR testing which is viewed as the gold standard in elite sport.

“We were impressed by the professionalism and experience of Assured Screening, given their existing relationships with the sporting and business world.

“This testing will be critical for the early detection of any positive tests, allowing us to safely continue training and matches in what will inevitably be a busy season.”
