In Memoriam: Ken Bird

Wigan Warriors are saddened to learn of the death of our former centre, Ken Bird, aged 85.

Ken was renowned as a tough tackling and free-scoring centre, making his debut against Oldham during the 1955/56 season, only for his career to be cut tragically short during his second season, due to a detached retina.

He made 12 appearances for Wigan, scoring four tries.

Our deepest sympathy goes to all those who were close to Ken at this extremely sad time.
