Liam Farrell praised the performances of his fellow teammates following Wigan’s narrow Grand Final defeat to St Helens.

Speaking to Wigan TV following the final whistle, the Englishman was able to find the positives despite his obvious disapointment at the loss.

He said: “I couldn’t fault our effort, they didn’t score a try for 80 minutes.

“The way we defended and turned up for each other was unbelievable. It was probably the best I’ve seen in a Wigan team.”

The second row suggested that he and his teammates must not leave that performance behind, and instead look towards the 2021 season with optimism.

“We’ve got to take all of that forward into next year now. Teams are struggling to score against us, Hull struggled and Saints were the same.

“The effort was outstanding, there were lads with injuries putting in amazing shifts – covering each other’s backs right until the end, it’s what Wigan players are made of.”
