Leuluai: Get over the line

Tommy Leuluai believes his career has been more about the memories made than the statistics as he prepares for his 300th appearance for Wigan Warriors.
The Kiwi is in his second spell with the Cherry and Whites, having made 189 appearances between 2007-2012 before spending four seasons back home with New Zealand Warriors.
Speaking to Wigan TV ahead of Friday’s crucial League Leaders’ Shield decider against Huddersfield, the 35 year-old discussed his first experience of the town back in 2007.
“I didn’t know too much about Wigan, but I soon found out how popular it was up here and how much Wigan Rugby League means to the people.”
Despite the many trophies won and appearances made at Wigan, the half-back believes more in enjoying the life experiences than the statistics.
“I’ve been very lucky to be a part of some very good teams.
“The number 300 comes around if you’ve been playing as long as I have.
“I think it’s more about the good memories than the number of games you’ve played.”
His 300th appearance won’t be just any game either, with the Warriors a victory away from winning the League Leaders’ Shield.
On the game: “If we all do our jobs correctly and play with the right intensity, we’ll get over the line.
“They’ve some great players, so all we can do is focus on ourselves, make sure we are at the party and see how we go.”
