Lam: I’m delighted

Head Coach Adrian Lam expressed his delight in Wigan’s win over rivals St Helens in one of the games of the season so far.

The victory takes the Cherry and Whites up to first place in the Betfred Super League at the expense of Kristian Woolf’s side.

Reacting to the result in his post-match press conference, Lam said: “It was one of the best games of Rugby League I’ve watched for a very long time, both in Australia and here.

“I’m delighted. I was proud with our aggression and intent.” 

After a scintillating opening 40 minutes, the Warriors went in at half-time 6-4 down. despite being behind, the Papua New Guinean discussed the upbeat vibes in the sheds.

“The dressing room at half time was really positive. We went in there in good shape and considering the back and forth of the first half, I expected more gassed players.”

The Head Coach praised the work of his whole side on the night, but also made individual points on a number of players.

On Brad Singleton: “He’s been outstanding, he’s got a great voice as well, good leadership. 

He also praised his half-back partnership: “We were consistent across the board. Tommy Leuluai was outstanding, Jackson Hastings was too.”
