Education online course offer

In support of Mental Health Awareness week, Wigan Warriors Education Academy are offering adults aged 19+ the opportunity to take part in a free online course that will raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of mental health issues. The short course will identify common mental health disorders, help reduce stigma and discrimination and encourage people to talk about mental health.

Head of Wigan Warriors Education, Kev Perry, said: “As part of our strategy to support the local community through this difficult period, we are delighted to be able to offer this free online course that will help to tackle a very significant health issue.

“The coronavirus pandemic is having a significant impact on mental health and wellbeing of many families at this point in time and this is a small step to support people by providing enhanced knowledge for themselves and to help others.

“We are delighted to launch the course in Mental Health Awareness week and hope to be able to support many of our fans this year and for many years to come.”

The course will lead to an accredited Level 2 Qualification – Active IQ Level 2 Award in Mental Health Awareness and provides an ideal opportunity to generally upskill knowledge gain a further valuable qualification to add to your CV.

Course Type: Supported Online Learning

Course Cost: FREE – subject to eligibility  

 The course is available to the following eligible participants:

  1. Not currently receiving funding for training 
  2. 19+ Years of Age
  3. Must have a Greater Manchester or Greater Merseyside Postcode
  4. Must have already achieved a Level 2 qualification in any subject.
