Wigan will be looking to ‘put things right’ in front of their home fans on Friday night when they take on Hull KR, according to Liam Farrell.

The DW Stadium will open its turnstiles to Warriors fans for the first time since March 2020, on Friday, with over 6,000 spectators able to attend under the current national restrictions.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday regarding the Betfred Super League clash, the second row discussed the hype within the squad.

“It’s very exciting to be back, and be back in front of our fans at home. We want to put on a good display for them.”

Despite having won seven of their first eight Betfred Super League fixtures, the most recent defeat to Catalans Dragons has certainly left a mark in the memories of the players.

This is something Farrell and his teammates are looking to put right against the Robins.

“There’s been a wait for us to get back out there, so we want to put things right, the lads have been champing at the bit.

“Everyone has a point to prove that we still are a good side, that it was just a blip in France.”

Tony Smith’s Rovers head into the game in decent form, having won three of their last five and come off the back of a 40-4 win over Salford.

On facing KR: “When I saw some of their signings at the start of the season, I knew they’d cause some teams trouble.

“We know about the kicking game of Jordan Abdull and the abilities of Shaun Kenny-Dowall

“We’ve focused in on their threats in training and we will have to overcome them on Friday night.”
