A powerful and athletic running back who made a breakthrough in the first team in 2019 with 18 appearances under Adrian Lam.

  • Hankinson is a former junior of Ashton Bears. He began his career at Salford Red Devils before moving to Leigh Centurions.
  • He impressed in a loan spell at Barrow Raiders and signed for Swinton Lions where he established himself as one of the lower league’s finest backs.
  • The centre joined Wigan in July 2018 on a two-year deal from Swinton.
  • Hankinson scored his first try for the Club in his second appearance against Catalans Dragons at the DW Stadium, but his season was cut short after suffering an eye injury in the 25-20 win.
  • He returned to the side in 2019 and went on to make 18 appearances, scoring two tries and converting 16 goals. His consistent performances saw him rewarded with a one-year contract extension in June.
  • During his two years with the Warriors so far, Hankinson has also played in the Championship for Swinton on dual-registration.
  • Ahead of the 2020 campaign, Hankinson was given the No.3 jersey following Dan Sarginson’s exit to Salford Red Devils.
