Ian Bentley has spent ten years at the Club and is now the new head of performance for the first team.
He started as an intern at Wigan while completing his MSc in sport science. Combining his part-time various roles as Scholarship strength & conditioning coach and Academy strength & conditioning coach, Bentley had a position at the University of Central Lancashire as the course leader for the BSc in strength & conditioning degree. During that time, he gained a PhD in Applied Sports Biomechanics.
Now working full-time as head of performance for the Warriors first team, Bentley brings a wealth of experience with him having been an accredited strength & conditioning coach through the UKSCA for more than eight years. He has also previously worked in football, tennis and Paralympic sport.
