A reliable forward pack member, Mago takes the number 15 shirt for Wigan in 2024.
Mago is a 29 year-old Prop from Auckland, New Zealand.
He previously played for North Queensland Cowboys, Brisbane Broncos and South Sydney Rabbitohs. Mago made his debut for Cowboys in Round 23 game against Penrith Panthers in 2017 and with just 2 appearances for the Panthers he then signed for Brisbane Broncos for 2018 season.
Mago made 12 appearances for the Broncos, scoring 2 tries and appearing in their elimination final loss at Suncorp Stadium. Mago then joined South Sydney and made 12 appearances in 2020, making a further 11 appearances in 2021.
The prop forward joined Wigan for 2022 on a three-year deal and in May 2022, Mago came off the bench to help secure a win against the Huddersfield Giants in the Challenge Cup Final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In his debut season he made 31 appearances, crossing for 1 try.
In 2023, the prop forward remained a reliable option off the interchange bench, featuring 27 times and crossing for 2 tries helping Wigan to lift the League Leaders’ Shield and the Super League Grand Final.
In September 2023, Mago signed a one-year contract extension which sees him remain at the Club for the 2024 season, with the option in Wigan’s favour for a further year in 2025.
Patrick Mago was part of the Warriors team to hold all four trophies at the same time after adding the Betfred World Club Challenge and Challenge Cup to his honours in 2024.
