Wigan-born McDermott signed his first contract with the Warriors Scholarship programme in 2021 after progressing through the ranks at Wigan St Patricks.
The prop forward, who away from rugby league is a qualified fabricator, scored a try for Lancashire in the Academy Origin decider in 2023.
McDermott made an impressive start to the 2024 campaign which included a try in the Warriors’ Reserves victory over Huddersfield Giants in pre-season.
