Get to know: Dom Manfredi

Get to know: Dom Manfredi

After being named in a first team 21-man squad for the first time in 2020, we sat down with Dom Manfredi to find out a bit more about him off the field.

The two time Grand Final winner has been with the Warriors since 2013.

One of his most memorable moments in a Wigan jersey came in the 2018 Old Trafford showpiece, where he scored two tries in a 12-4 victory against Warrington Wolves.

Whilst his performances on the pitch are well documented, there are plenty of thing you may not know about the 26-year-old and his life off the field.

Here are five facts to help you get to know Dom Manfredi a little bit better ahead of Sunday’s Betfred Super League encounter with Hull FC:

How well do you know Dom Manfredi?

Boxing is one of his favourite sports

“I’m a big fan of boxing. My favourite fighter at the moment is (Vasyl) Lomachenko, but the greatest of all time is (Floyd) Mayweather, he is untouchable.

“I like to see a bit of action in my fights, so AJ’s (Anthony Joshua) most recent fight was a bit of a let-down, but he is the champ now so that’s all that matters.”

His favourite TV show is Peaky Blinders

“My favourite TV series is Peaky Blinders, as soon as it’s on TV I put it on straight away, I just love how it is set in England.

“When I was growing up, I liked watching The Inbetweeners, but hopefully none of them are like me.”

He prefers dogs over cats

“I’ve got a dog called Stanley who is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he’s three-year-old and loves long walks. I try to get about and like going to places like The Lakes.

“I’d 100 per cent choose dogs over cats, I’ve always had one, so when I moved out and got my own place it was only right to get one.”

His favourite pizza is Texas BBQ

“I love Dominos pizza, my favourite has to be BBQ Texas, all day, and then cookies every time for dessert!”

He loves living in Leigh

“I am from Leigh and I live in Leigh. I think that it is lovely, I wouldn’t live anywhere else.”
