Dom Manfredi speaks to Wigan TV ahead of his return to action in Thursday’s pre-season friendly against Leigh Centurions.
Winger has been out since April last year and is set to play for the first time since against his hometown club.
- Manfredi: “My main goal is to stay injury-free, get as many games as I can, do all I can for the team and hopefully get some silverware at the end of the year.”
Dom Manfredi says the pressure is on to stand out and be counted in Thursday’s pre-season friendly against Leigh Centurions, in what will be his first game in over nine months.
The winger was named as part of Adrian Lam’s 23-man squad to travel to Leigh Sports Village and he will make his return against his hometown club, after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in April last year.
Speaking to Wigan TV this week, he said: “It’s always good to play against Leigh. I get a bit of stick from them all which is good and it’s all part of the game - it will be good to get out there.
“My main goal is to stay injury-free, get as many games as I can, do all I can for the team and hopefully get some silverware at the end of the year. There’s loads of competition for places, there’s some great players and you’ve got to play your best or you will lose your spot.
“I’m prepared to buy my time and get back up to speed and we’ll see where we go from there.”
