Wigan Warriors are offering the chance to volunteer within the Club.

We’re on the look out for enthusiastic people to help support a range of volunteer roles within the Club and Foundation. Whether you’re considering a potential career in sports coaching, interested in event management or simply in a position to give up some of you’re time to help support the club, we have a volunteer role for you.

Available Roles:

Community Foundation Minibus Driver - The Foundation uses the power of sport to change the lives of people across the North West. The Foundation minibus is a vital component in providing everyone with an equal chance to access opportunities regardless of transport or finance barriers that might present themselves. The majority of volunteer support would be needed during the normal Monday to Friday working week.

Match Day/Events Team - Match-days are the busiest day of our week, with numerous activities and components taking place to ensure the day runs smoothly and provides an enjoyable experience for all who attend. We can offer a range of roles from supporting stadium tours, pre-match festivals and competitions and engaging with fans in our Fan Village to pre-match stadium preparation and supporting pre and half time activities on the pitch.

Community Foundation Volunteer Sports Coach/Youth Worker - We are always on the look out for individuals with a passion for sports coaching/youth work and we deliver a wide range of initiatives that can provide quality work experience but also a possible stepping stone onto a full time career. We are currently looking for volunteers to help support our school and holiday camp delivery up until September.

Requirements: Minibus Drivers must have D1 classification on their driving license and all roles will be subject to DBS check.

The Club has welcomed volunteers for many years with some of those volunteers now even working for the Club in a full-time capacity.

Warriors Foundation Manager, Mike Wearden said:

We’re always open to giving people experience here at Wigan and want to continue that. We tend to find that people who volunteer with us go on to do really well having had such a great learning experience with us.

People interested in volunteering with the Warriors are asked to send a copy of their CV along with a short note explaining the type of experience they wish to undertake to Mike Wearden at community@wiganwarriors.com.
