Chris Hankinson looks ahead to Monday’s clash against Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Centre believes it is a ‘must win game.’
- Hankinson: “We are going to come out all guns blazing.”
Chris Hankinson says Wigan Warriors ‘can’t afford’ to lose any more points as they travel to the AJ Bell Stadium to face Salford Red Devils on Monday.
The 25-year-old centre has stated it is a ‘must win’ game for Adrian Lam’s side, as the Cherry and Whites sit 10th in the Betfred Super League table and four points behind Monday’s opponents.
Hankinson believes it is important for Wigan to execute the ball better and to finish off opportunities against the Red Devils.
The centre said: “It’s a massive game and a must win. We can’t afford to lose anymore points and we are going to come out all guns blazing.
“On their day they can be a threatening side, they like to throw the ball around, but if we turn up and get to our best, we can beat them.”
Reflecting on the Good Friday Derby defeat to St Helens, Hankinson admits it was the best their opponents had played so far this season.
The former Barrow Raiders man also commented on how ‘electric’ the atmosphere was at the DW Stadium.
“They turned up really well as we knew they would. It was a fast game and we need to be better and have a more disciplined start.”
“It was similar to my debut, it gives you a bit more energy and you can’t thank the fans enough.”
