Community Energy Champion Volunteers

Community Energy Champion Volunteers

Everyone deserves to stay warm at home!

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and Wigan Council are excited to launch Wigan Borough’s Community Energy Champion Programme. We are looking for volunteers to be trained as Community Energy Champions to support families living locally to keep warm, safe and dry. No experience is needed as we’ll fully train you to provide information and advice on affordable warmth and enable you to support families to access relevant services within the borough. The role does not involve any lone working and is flexible enough to fit around your life. Becoming a Community Energy Champion is a fantastic way to develop your skills and make a positive difference in your local community.

If you would like to be part of this exciting new opportunity we will be holding an Energy Champion Introduction Training session on Tuesday 19th of March 2019, 11:30am-2pm at Central Park, Montrose Avenue, Wigan, WN5 9XL. (11:30-12pm will be a free lunch/introduction and then followed by 12pm-2pm, a Fuel Poverty awareness session).

This role is in partnership with Wigan Council and adopts their Deal for communities’ approach which believes in building resilient communities by using the assets that exist locally. By investing in our communities and our local residents we are giving people the skills to support one another and improve the quality of life for people living within their communities.

For more information regarding the role or about this programme, please contact Tricia (Energy Champion Coordinator) on 07858066730 or email
