Wigan’s Harry Smith set for one-month loan to Swinton
Youngster was part of the 2018 Academy Grand Final winning Wigan side
- Smith recently signed new 3-year deal at Wigan Warriors
Wigan Warriors Academy scrum-half Harry Smith will head to dual-registration partners Swinton Lions on a one-month loan.
Smith was a part of the 2018 Wigan Academy Grand Final winning side and has represented England Youth and England Academy level and recently penned a three-year contract with the Warriors.
On Smith’s loan move to the Betfred Championship side, Wigan Warriors Transition Coach Darrell Goulding said: “Harry is an exciting talent and I’m confident that his move to the Lions, an organisation who we enjoy a very strong relationship with, will help his development. We wish him well and will be keeping a close eye on his progress.”
Swinton Lions Head Coach Stuart Littler said: “I am absolutely delighted to have secured the loan signing of the highly rated Wigan and England youth product, Harry Smith.
“Harry is a player of exceptional talent who has just starred for England Academy in their recent test series victory against Australia.
“We (Swinton Lions) would like to thank everyone at our partner club Wigan for making this happen. A special thanks to Darrell Goulding, who I have worked closely with on this one.”
