Wigan Warriors Community Foundation and Behind a Smile are delighted to announce they have raised £600 from the sales of the Three in 13 t-shirt collaboration with Wigan Warriors captain Sean O’Loughlin.
The limited edition t-shirt proved to be a huge hit with the fans and sold out within hours of going on sale.
All profits raised will be used to support a yoga and mindfulness programme in schools. The programme is designed to support children physically, mentally and emotionally and will equip them with the tools to cope with difficult emotions and stressful situations.
Wigan Warriors Community Foundation’s Health and Well-being Manager, Claire Taylor said:
“We are already delivering yoga in schools and it has been very popular with both pupils and teachers. The money raised from this project will enable us to access yoga training for another member of our team, which means we can offer the programme to more schools.”
Matt from Behind a Smile added:
“It has been a dream come true working with the Wigan Warriors, The Community Foundation & Sean O’Loughlin on our THREE in 13 project. Everyone is extremely sad that it is coming to an end but we hope to do more projects in the future with this great club and town. Once again we want to thank the fans and everyone who has got behind the THREE in 13 message; the Behind a Smile aim is to start conversations around mental illness, breaking down the stigmas that surround it . We believe in what we are doing and to have the support of the Warriors has been a massive boost to the future of the brand. The Warriors lead the way across so many areas within sport and health and this is one that really needs to be pushed forward”.
