  • Michael Mcilorum and Jack Higginson included in Ireland squad for Rugby League World Cup

Michael Mcilorum and Jack Higginson have been included in the Ireland squad for the upcoming World Cup.

Mcilorum, 29, will head to a World Cup with Ireland for the second time having featured in three games at the 2008 tournament.

Higginson, 20, has played three games for Wigan but spent much of 2017 on the sidelines owing to injury. Should he play he will make his international debut.

Wakefield duo Liam Finn and Scott Grix lead the side as captain and vice-captain.

St Helens pair Kyle Amor and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook lead a big looking pack with Super League players Brad Singleton, Tyrone McCarthy, Anthony Mullally and James Hasson all included.
