Gareth Widdop named NRL five-eighth of the year
England and St George star claims prestigious gong
- Widdop to feature in International Double Header at ANZ Stadium on Satuday 10th February, 2018
England international and St George Illawarra Dragons star Gareth Widdop has been named the NRL’s Five-Eighth of the Year.
Widdop, 28, was given the prestigious gong last night after scoring 10 tries in 2017 as well as 18 assists.
A regular for England, Widdop has been with the Dragons for four years and was recently named as the Club’s Player of the Year.
He finished third in the running for the Dally M Medal behind winner Cameron Smith.
Widdop will line up at ANZ Stadium on Saturday 17 February 2018 when his St George side take on Hull ahead of Wigan v South Sydney Rabbitohs. A week earlier Wigan take on Hull in a huge Super League game in Wollongong on Saturday 10 February 2018.
