Connor Farrell joins Featherstone on loan until the end of the season
23-year-old teams up with former Swinton coach, John Duffy, at Rovers
- Featherstone have the option to make the deal permanent
Second-row forward Connor Farrell has joined Featherstone Rovers on loan.
Farrell, 23, made his First Team debut for Wigan in 2014 and featured a second time that year and seven times in 2015. He spent the 2016 season on loan with Widnes Vikings where he made 12 appearances.
Having found opportunities hard to come by this year at Wigan he has played regularly for dual-registration partners Swinton Lions.
The loan deal is until the end of the 2017 season with a view to a permanent deal should Featherstone wish to exercise that option.
Wigan Warriors Rugby Director, Kris Radlinski, said:
“Connor is a great young professional and having already worked alongside John Duffy earlier this season, during John’s time as Swinton Head Coach, he was keen to make the move over to Featherstone.
“With the transfer deadline today and with us being well covered in the forwards we felt that it was right to allow Connor to make this move.
“Connor carries himself well and leaves a great impression on the Club. We wish him every success for the rest of the season.”
