Charnley shortlisted for 2016 Try of the Year
Try against Catalans in The Big One 6 makes top ten
- Former Wigan winger scored match-winning try in 2016 Grand Final win
Josh Charnley has been shortlisted for the 2016 Trojan Workwear Try of the Year for his effort against Catalans in The Big One 6.
His try, the only Wigan try shortlisted, goes up against nine other great efforts from the likes of Ken Sio, Ryan Brierley, Tom Lineham and Jamie Shaul.
With Catalans on the attack and deep in Wigan territory they surrendered position which allowed Liam Farrell to fire a pass to Anthony Gelling. Gelling edges forward before kicking through for Charnley to collect who then turned the Dragons defence inside out to score a classy 90-metre try.
The former Wigan winger left the Warriors in October after scoring the match-winning try in the 2016 Grand Final.
